Under Construction: A Home Improvement Photo Contest

The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA), Iowa Association of REALTORS® (IAR), the Iowa Home Ownership Education Project (IHOEP) and the Iowa Mortgage Association (IMA) are proud to partner to bring you another fun, social media contest this summer!  

Iowa mortgage lenders, housing counselors and REALTORS® are encouraged to register now to participate in Under Construction: A Home Improvement Photo Contest. You’ll be mailed a free kit with everything you need after you register!

Participation is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Beginning June 1, 2013, ask your clients to show what’s under construction at their home. Participants will be asked to write a word or short phrase that best describes their project (make sure they have some fun with it – creativity will count in voting!)
2. Provide each participating individual with a photo release form, and obtain signatures of each individual that will be included in the photo.
3. Use your camera to obtain a photo of the individual/family and their at-home project, or have them email the photo to you. All entries must be submitted by the participating mortgage lender, housing counselor or REALTOR® via email at IFAfyi@iowa.gov. (See the on-page examples!) All photos must be received by the end of day on June 30, 2013 to be included in the contest.

Visit Facebook.com/MeaningofHomeownership from July 1-14, 2013 to vote every day for your entries and to win BIG! The contest winner with the most votes will receive a $2,500 Lowe’s gift card for their at-home project, and the top vote-getters in the 1) mortgage lender/housing counselor and 2) REALTOR® categories will each receive a $2,500 Community Betterment prize and publicity/marketing benefits.
